Gila Goldstein to Perform Solo Recital on May 16.
On Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 7:30 p.m., acclaimed concert pianist Gila Goldstein performed
a solo recital in the spirit of celebrating important life and career anniversaries at the
New York Piano Academy. She performed a selection of piano gems that reflect her lifelong
dedication to the art of piano playing, including the Chaconne in D Minor by Bach-Busoni;
Acht Klavierstücke, Op. 76 by Brahms; miniatures by Schubert-Liszt, Mendelssohn, Schumann,
Chopin, Poulenc, Mompou, and Falla; and the world premiere of Ronn Yedidia's Waltz No. 16.
The concert took place at The New York Piano Academy.
Gila Goldstein has captivated audiences and critics around the world with her unique artistry and soulful interpretations. She has performed as a solo artist and a collaborative pianist throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Asia, Europe, and Israel. A champion of the music of Israel's leading classical composer Paul Ben-Haim, Ms. Goldstein has recorded two volumes of his entire piano and chamber works on the Centaur label. As a board member of the American Liszt Society and the Founder-President of its New York Chapter since 1992, she has been a frequent guest performer at ALS annual festivals. Ms. Goldstein currently serves on the piano faculty at Boston University's School of Music and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute.
