NY/NJ Chapter Hosts March Concert in NYC
The New York/New Jersey Chapter of the American Liszt
Society presented nine young pianists in a concert held at the Yamaha
Piano Salon in New York City on March 7, 2013. Following is a list of
performers, their ages, their teachers, and the repertoire (all-Liszt)
performed.
Christopher Staknys, 16 (student of Roberto Poli, New England
Conservatory prep. divison, Boston): Transcendental Etudes Nos. 3 and
2.
Wenqiao Jiang, 15 (student of Solomon Mikowsky, MSM prep. division,
New York City): Verdi-Liszt "Rigoletto" Paraphrase.
Solomon Quinn, 16 (student of Natela Mchedlishvili, Young Artist
Program, Kaufman Center in NYC): Paganini Etude No. 2.
Allison To, 12 (student of Ethan Dong, Opus 119 School of Music,
Irvine, CA): Gounod-Liszt "Waltz" from Faust.
Carmen Knoll, 15 (student of Choong Mo Kang, Juilliard pre-college
division): Arkady Volodos' arrangement of Hungarian Rhapsody No. 13.
Tiffany To, 15 (student of Ethan Dong, Opus 119 School of Music,
Irvine, CA): Wagner-Liszt "Liebestod" from Tristan und Isolde.
Fyodor Shiryaev, 16 (student of Natela Mchedlishvili, Young Artist
Program, Kaufman Center in NYC): Paganini Etude No. 6.
Jay Lee, 15 (student of Nina Svetlanova, MSM prep. division, NYC):
Les jeux d'eaux à la Villa d'Este.
Yuchong Wu, 17 (student of Matti Raekallio, Juilliard pre-college)
Spanish Rhapsody.
