ALS Board Members Steven Spooner and Mei Li proudly announce the 2023 iteration of the Chicago International Music Competition and Festival! Competition Dates are July 16 - 19, 2023, and Festival Dates are July 20 - 24, 2023. ALS members Dr. Steven Spooner and Dr. Mei Li are Co-Founders of the event, with Steven serving as Artistic Director and Mei serving as CEO. CIMC returns to an in-person competition and festival at Wheaton College in the northwest Chicago area this summer. The faculty includes some of the biggest names in the piano world, including Veda Kaplinsky, Sasha Korsantia, Boris Slusky, Hung-Kuan Chen, Hieyon Choi, Steven Spooner, Alan Chow, and many others.
